CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)

RISK / PREVENTION

  • WASH HANDS
  • SOCIAL DISTANCE
  • AVOID TOUCHING EYES, FACE, AND MOUTH
  • RESPIRATORY HYGIENE

SYMPTOMS / SCREENING

Primary symptoms ranging from mild to severe, including:

  • FEVER
  • FATIGUE
  • DRY COUGH
  • SHORTNESS OF BREATH

To conserve the supply of limited COVID-19 tests, many patients with confirmed exposure or suspected COVID-19 will not be tested for the virus.

A virtual screening does not guarantee you will receive a referral for testing based on the provider’s clinical findings.

  • If testing is deemed medically necessary after the examination, an initial swab is obtained

  • Virtual screenings also help determine if an emergency center visit is required for more intensive treatment options

COVID-19 testing may be recommended if you are experiencing moderate cough, fever over 100.4 degrees, have a chronic health condition including chronic kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease or are immune deficency due to cancer treatment, recent surgeries, medications, or other conditions.

After scheduling your virtual appointment, you will be screened but tested only as directed by a provider. If you are experiencing life threatening symptoms including shortness of breath, call 911 or report to your nearest emergency department.
